MySQL Database Architect/Administrator

Skills/Requirements:
The right candidate should enjoy designing, diagnosing, and developing for databases. Candidate must also have experience developing software and working in a Linux environment; and should have in-depth knowledge/experience in the following technical areas:
Relational database design, normalization
Advanced SQL topics: triggers, stored procedures, views, custom types, cursors
Database performance benchmarking, query analysis, performance tuning strategies
Database server administration (Linux-based)
Database replication solutions
Develop application-specific, fault-tolerant, distributed database mechanisms
Develop and optimize physical design of database systems
Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases
Work with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
Experience with Postgres database is a huge plus
Candidates should have demonstrated experience with the following technologies/platforms:
Open-source database server MySQL
Database-related software development on a Linux platform (Java, C/C++, PHP, Perl)
Required education, experience or background:
BS Computer Science or Math
Demonstrated experience with relational database physical design
Demonstrated experience with relational database performance tuning and capacity planning
Developed and maintained high SLA production environments in an Internet environment; supporting large customer base
