Open Source Project Maintainer

We are developing an innovative approach to running applications on the cloud and have portions of our code that we'd like to contribute to the community and maintain in an open setting for greater transparency and collaboration. We're looking for someone to carve off the relevant pieces, Open Source them, and maintain and evangelize the project and community. Depending on the future of cloud computing, this could end up being a very high profile project.
Please tell us in your cover letter about your experience leading a sizable Open Source project.

Skills/Requirements: 
Recent and relevant experience leading an in-depth Open Source project is required. Please point us to the link.
Experience writing and/or deploying and managing the operations of web applications.
Experience writing and/or deploying and managing the operations of web applications.
Experience mediating a community mailing list and/or project page/wiki.
BSCS/BSEE with demonstrated experience with development and implementation of production enterprise systems products.
Strong background working with distributed, scalable and multi-threaded products.
Strong C/C++, OOP, with Linux/Unix experience.
Hands-on experience with some of the following Open Source technologies: Unix/Linux, Apache projects, Java, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby, Tomcat, JBoss, Spring, Seam, Struts, PHP Framework, Eclipse.
Successful candidate will have worked for startups successfully with proven track record of accomplishment.

Passion and solid belief in the Open Source culture and the enthusiasm to create and share something new within this community.
Functions/Responsibilites: 
Write code to enable introduction of the relevant pieces of our product to the Open Source community.
Act as the technical resource and caretaker for the Open Source project. Shepherd, maintain and update the project as it grows.
Build relationships within the community and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
Gather and track feedback to share with the rest of the Development team.
Keep up with internal developments and select candidate code to further Open Source
