The IT Corporate Applications team designs, implements and supports large scale enterprise business systems that power Yahoo's internal business operations. This includes Oracle ERP, Siebel CRM applications, data warehouse systems, and other off-the shelf and custom software, that are core to Yahoo's internal systems architecture and data management strategy. The Corporate Applications team is part of the Yahoo's Global IT organization and is strategically aligned, with internal business partners across Yahoo (i.e.) finance, HR, customer care, engineering, products and other G&A groups.
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced software engineer, who is comfortable in juggling multiple projects in a fast paced working environment, to join Yahoo! Corp Apps team. Candidate will work as part of a development team to design, develop, test, and deploy internal web applications and Yahoo’s intranet site.
Skills/Requirements:
BS/BA degree with focus on Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent.
10+ years working experience in designing and coding web-based applications using object oriented concepts
10+ years working experience in Database schema design
10+ years working experience in Unix based development environments (Linux and FreeBSD preferred)
10+ years working experience with PHP, MySQL, and Oracle DB
3+ years working experience with AJAX
Quick learner with excellent analytical skills focused on solving problems with design, development, and testing applications.
Ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment
Passionate in learning new web technologies
J2EE, PERL, and XML/XSLT working experience a plus
Familiar with Yahoo Developer Libraries
Functions/Responsibilites:
Work closely with internal customers to gather requirements and prepare business and technical specifications
Design, develop, test, QA and deploy web applications using LAMP, Object Oriented programming concepts, and Web 2.0 technologies
